Workshops in Mindfulness Meditation – Pure and Simple focus on the practical application of mindfulness through learning the art of meditation and adapting mindfulness skills to everyday life. Meditation is a contemplative practice that helps us develop the mental faculties and skills associated with calm and insight – deeper self-understanding, wisdom and compassion.
The workshop structure includes:
- outlining the key conceptual frameworks underpinning mindfulness and meditation practice, including a brief history of the origins of the practice and the philosophy behind it
- training in several simple meditation techniques
- identifying and working with the barriers to effective practice, and
- plenty of time to put into practice, review and discuss the knowledge and skills imparted
We also discuss and explore how to extend the practice of mindfulness into everyday life, from the more ‘formal’ application of sitting and walking meditation to the more ‘informal’ approach as we go about our business at home, at work, with friends and family, alone or with others.
Our Mindfulness Meditation workshops are taught by experienced mindfulness meditation teachers with many years of practice behind them. The workshops can be customised for any group’s particular interests, requirements, and timing, and can be made suitable for either beginners or more experienced practitioners of mindfulness, or a blend of both. Small or large groups can be accommodated and suitable venues can be discussed and arranged accordingly.
